London Olympics & Paralympics 2012

Whilst the upcoming Olympics will be an exciting time for all of us, it is clear that we need to plan ahead to ensure that we are well positioned to meet all of our customers’ expectations for uninterrupted service throughout the whole period (from 13th July to 14thSeptember 2012). Particularly affected will be businesses that are close to the Olympic Stadium and those directly affected by the lanes designated for the Olympic family to travel to and from the venues. As our depot is close to the main Olympic stadium and the roads around us are all routes to and from the main Olympic stadium we expect to be affected.

Vehicles making deliveries on the designated route networks need to be completely off the public highway between 06:00-00:00 when there are also no kerbside deliveries permitted on the route networks.

We are committed to making deliveries to all our customers throughout this period. What we would ask is that you make sure you are fully aware of any restrictions that apply to your specific location for each day and ensure that the relevant details are clearly indicated on each individual order when the order is placed. We trust that you understand that if we are not made aware of any restrictions and are therefore unable to make delivery, we may have no choice but to charge for aborted deliveries.

We would also ask that for any night time deliveries (00:00-06:00) we are given 4 working days notice.

We are confident that by working together we can jointly ensure that we meet expected service levels and keep disruptions to a minimum.

The advice from transport for London is that anyone affected by the transport restrictions should:

Reduce - You could reduce the number of deliveries during the games.

Re-time - You could manage your deliveries to be made during quieter periods.

Re-Route - Advise deliveries to use different routes to your site.

Revise mode – Can deliveries be made via alternative methods or collected?

If you wish to discuss any of the above further please contact our sales team on 020 8521 5900.
